Default Downgrading GPS firmware

This is not a huge issue as i do not use my GPS often at all as its so damn outdated. BUT when i got the car the seller gave me a firmware update. I ran it and now it says my map disk is incorrect. So is there any way to reset the NAV firmware back? Or to find out what map disk version will go with the firmware i have.
any help or info would be appreciated.
thanks.

You cannot "go back".

Did the map disc work before?

Map discs are not compatible across the Cad platforms (thanks GM!)

Do you have the ability to burn a dual sided DVD? I'm running the Navteq 6.8 for a Nissan in our 05 V. That got my maps up to 2010 at least.

PM me for more info if you like.
