Default Melted wires from ac compressor

Car is a 98 v6 bird and i noticed the wires coming from the ac compressor were melted around the front of the valve covers. My car is throwing low circuit codes for egr, injector control, tps, and a couple more. Believe the ground wire from ac ties into the ground for most of the problem code sensors. What would cause the wires to have melted like that? The connector was a little toasty to. But didnt look like it was the cause. As ive noticed so far the only wiring affected is the two ac wires running along the valve covers

The wires should be inside a plastic type covering. So that the rubber on them doesnt touch the covers. Other wise if just the rubber is on the covers it gets hot enough to melt them. Now if the plastic heat shield is melted then it has happened when your car over heated. I would replaces the connector that got melted anyways just to be safe. Could you upload some pictures.

Yea the plastic loom was melted in a couple places. It all broke off when i was moving it. I'll definately get some pics. I figure the wires just got hot. Idk if it would have a surge inthe compressor control. I havent checked the fuses for it yet. I'll get a pic of the connector and what is left of the wires. I just noticed it when i was taking off the fuel rail

The couple looks a little hot maybe from the wires causing a short. The green wire was melted and corroded bad and crumbled apart where the two wires were melted so bad. Black white striped wire is pretty well clean just the coating is melted off. Anyone see this in other cars? The wires looked fine under the radio port
