Default Wiring up Eboost2 boost controller

i was wiring up my eboost2 boost controller, and was wondering if i needed to wire the yellow (tach signal) wire from the controller to the ground on a ign coil? is it mandatory, or can i run it without the tach signal? or what's the purpose for it anyways?

Its so you can read the rpm of the motor, shift light, and for boost stability at high rpm if you have a falling off issue.

I have mine hooked up. If I hadn't known where the tach signal wire was under the dash I would have just left it unhooked probably. I look at it every once in a while to remind myself how far off the stock tach is as well as looking at the peak RPM sometimes.

i would need this signal if i wanted it to spool faster in the lower rpms? my manual boost controller would spool slower at a setting of 11 psi, and would spool faster when i set it at 17psi.

No you would not need a tach signal to make it spool quicker.

no changing the gate pressure setting would effect spool.
