Default chainging 4l60e shift solenoids

Im fixing to change my shift solenoids in my 2003 sierra 5.3 4l60e im aware its a simple job, while im under there im going to change the trans oil filter and gasket obviously and wanted to know what to expect will changing the solenoids im changing both solenoids and want to know is there anything else im going to have to change, im all ears

Once the pan is off, the only tool you need is a small bladed screwdriver to pull the clips out that hold the solenoids. One solenoid is spring loaded (just 1 lb of force), the other not. First snap off the electrical connectors with your fingernail.
You might consider installing the Sonnax 4L60-LB1 boost valve while you have the pan off. It will increase line pressure across the board which will give you slightly firmer shifts, reduce slippage during shifts, thereby reducing heat and potentially increasing the life of the trans. About $30 and the only tool you need is a snap ring plier.
