C6 Grandsport shifter adjustment, help needed. My dad recently purchased an A6 2010 Grandsport, it is a theft recovery car and the whole interior was stripped. The car had all brand new interior put back in it including center console before he bought it last week. Once he got almost home from his 8 hour road trip to get the car he noticed the shifter didnt seem quite right. When you put it in drive it doesnt quite click into place and can easily be bumped into another gear, it will go all the way to reverse without squeezing the button on the shifter.
Do you all know if this issue can be a result of improper center console replacement? can these shifters be adjusted to fix this issue? He just wants to know before he starts ripping the center console apart.
