450-500rwhp goal build. Thought & opinions
So I recently bought a 2006 Ls2 cts v with 66k miles. Raven black with some chrome asanti rims. 245's front and 275's rear. 18" rim. It came with magnaflow mufflers and stock other than that. Sounds nice. Car is fast (and idle issue went away after cleaning TB so no more that) and i like it but kinda want alittle more and keep DD driveablitly. I'm looking for 450-500 rwhp and am wondering if these mods can maybe get me alittle close? So I'm looking to put these mods in it...
-Ls3 heads and ls3 intake manifold with ls7 throttle body Probably port everything
-K&N intake
-Cam (mild not to excessive)
-Headers
-E85 or Meth
-High flow cats
-Pushrods
-Valves & springs
-Fuel injectors
-Fuel system
Can these mods get me close to my goal? What's realistic numbers with these? What's a good cam? This will be my first ls build so any help and tips and recommendations on what i should go with would be great and appreciated. Any Q's just ask. Thanks!

Hmmm...ok ok. I have been thinking just a 78-80mm single turbo at like 5-7psi. But haven't really seen a single turbo cts v1 except for that 91mm comp turbo V. Real nice.

500 is not happening without a stroker. Surprised fuzzy didn't mention it, but you want a custom 4" intake, or at the very least, something that flows better than the K&N. I just finished up putting a 4" pipe in. Much less restrictive. Stock injectors can support 450 no problem. As for a cam, you will need something like the TSP Tsunami (just an example). Daily driveable, but a bit big.

From soneone who has been there and done it, this is the most cost effective way.
Save the money from the heads, cam, intake and TB and build a new stroker motor. You can do it for $7k and be right at 500 rwHp. Set aside more money for a clutch and rear end or at least 1000 Hp axles.
I wish I would have just went straight to a stroker motor.

So I have another cts v with a cast iron block that I was going to twin turbo and use for drag/street mainly but should I use an iron block to build stroker? Or save for the turbo's? Do I buy a stroker kit, decent cam port intake and TB, tune and that's basically it? Of course clutch and all.

If I instead put that money toward a 416 LS3 or 427 LSX stroker, I could have made at least 500 RWHP and 475 RWTQ. That would have been a massive improvement (as I'm sure Brian can tell you--night and day difference).
