Default How much to register out of state car in Texas?

So I am from here but in Feb.2013 I moved out to Arizona. While out there I sold my truck and bought my 2002 WS6 from a dealer. In December I moved back to TX.

I know the car must be inspected first. After I do that and head to the courthouse can anyone give me a estimate of what it will cost me to register it here and get plates? Never had to register a car myself, always bought from dealers. Thanks guys.

Also, I live in Houston/Harris county.

Yep...bout $80 for registration and $15-$35 for inspection depending on county of residence.

Damn greedy bastards. Taxing for out of state transfer is BS. Clearly you are intending to stay in the state and pay state taxes, which is helping them as is.

Sorry for ranting.

just make sure you ask for a green sheet when you get insepcted, if not the courthouse/DMV will send you back to the same inspection station to pick one up.
