high compression and boost

Default high compression and boost

A 408 with ported ls3 heads, cam, and intake, with a 150 shot, on 93 pump

The compression ratio is 11:2:1 and I'm planning to switch the fuel system over to an e85 set up. I know high comp. and high boost equals detention without proper set up, but how much boost do yall think I can run on e85 through a 76mm turbo

I know I could run more boost with meth injection, but I don't think I'll run meth until it becomes strictly track car

It really depends on a lot of factors including your tune, camshaft, and how effective you can be with keeping the pistons cool. The e85 certainly helps, but to give an exact number of how much boost or how much hp it can make safely is tough to say.

This and a "76mm" turbo leaves alot of info out. An On3 76 is going to choke to death before you even get started. A BW 76 with a large turbine Id say will be ok until around 18-20 psi with that compression.

Ive ran 28lbs on 10.5 to 1 with E85.

Not hijacking the thread, but why are LS guys able to run higher compression wit a turbo and get away with it but LT1 like myself have to be more careful?? Is it because of the reverse cooling heads?

I was told by a tuner I couldnt run no more than 10#s of boost. But LS guys running 11:1 or more in some cases run 14-15#s of boost. I was just a little bothered by the input I received.

I think a lot has to do with the efficiency of the combustion chamber, but I could be completely wrong.

I'm in the middle of a build now just waiting on my new intake. I have stock stroke stock crank and rods aluminum 5.3. All arp pro series fasteners. Studs for mains and heads. Trickflow 205 heads and trickflow cam 220/224 575 split lift and 112 lsa. My compression is 11.6:1 with wiseco forged dome pistons. Could I run (with the right timing and tune) in your opinion a procharger p1sc tuner kit on 93 pump and about 5-8 psi or do I at least need a more aggressive cam overlap.

I don't have the money to do this now but I was wondering if in the future I want more out of it could I make this work. My buddy just got an 800 hp cts-v and I'm loving the blower whine! The seat of the pants is not bad either.
