Default 700r4 detent problem

I just finished installing a 93 lt1 and 700r4 trans into my 71 elcamino, runs great, problem is,with trans detent cable(lokar) adjusted so shift points are dead on ,i only have 3/4 throttle opening, detent cable at max pull, ive contacted lokar and even sent pics of cable setup, they say everything is installed correctly,if i adjust cable to factory spec, trans shifts way to soon and slips, anyone have an idea?? any help would be awesome, thanks

Sounds like the cable is too short. If you're using fuel injection with the factory manifold and throttle body, you can buy a new generic cable. IIRC they're 52" long. I have a spare one in the garage. Only downside is you can't get one from the General anymore. No one can, and you can't find them anywhere, except the generic stuff that's close. You
