I have a built top end lq9 for boost, powerglide tranny, swapping 3.27s into rear, 92 fox lx, weighs under 2900. I want 1000+hp and atleast 8's in 1/4 5's 1/8 mile. I was going to go with a s480 with billet wheel but some people say it will not get me where I want, any suggestions on a turbo? gt4788? I want the bigger AR though I think that one has .96. nothing to choke my motor.

An billet S480 will get a 2900lb car well into the 8's... Who ever told you it wont is on crack.

I would have to search to find the thread but yeah they said theyre not good for more than 8.90s I believe

Who told you that a S480 was good for 8.90's?

A good friend of mine has a cast wheel S476 on a 3200 lb. car with a built 5.3 and it runs 5.19@135 mph and has been 8.08@170mph in the 1/4 at that weight.

A S480 at your weight can go 7.90's.

An out of the box $650 cast wheel S475 will get you into the 8s. At 2900 lbs it should get you 8.70s.

A billet 80 will put you on the brink of 7s.
