Default Painting engine block and transmission??

I've got a couple quick questions on painting an engine and transmission. I'm in the process of getting my car together and I want to paint the engine and transmission. I have a LQ4/4L80e going in a 1980 Pontiac Firebird.

Has anybody used basecoat/clearcoat on the engine block? I really want it to look good but never had good luck with rattle can engine enamel. I do paint work for a living so all the prep work/spraying wouldn't be an issue but I was just curious about the heat on the block. I have searched around on google and seen some have did basecoat/clearcoat with no issues. Just wanted to see if anyone on here has.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it would but just thought I'd ask before I dive into it.
