Default torque management

does torque management kick in under part throttle or only under heavy load/WOT?????? if im feeling a split second nosedive during part throttle upshifts, could the TM cause it???

W/ stock tune it is active as low as 240 (?)
delivered torque calc. This is well into the low
part of part throttle because the calc takes
into account the converter multiplication of
flywheel torque. Further, the part throttle
shift adaptation time lets the trans take up
to 0.4 sec to shift, and spark is slammed for
that duration. So not only do you have a power
cutout, you have it for long enough to be real
annoying. At WOT the adaptation time set to
less and so is the sensation of "bog".

I have been incrementally upping the TM torque
level in my tuning, trying to make a max shift
torque plateau setup. The stock profile lets the
shift-through torque keep climbing with torque.
My scheme results in less max torque applied at
the big end but more in the midband. At 400lb-ft
the TM seems not to be active below about 3/4
throttle. I will probably tweak it a little higher yet.
No point in protecting the trans against a little
tickle and then still slamming it at WOT. What I
am aiming at is to have TM at WOT and near-
WOT, just enough.
