Buying Headers
Ive been reading and searching for every header thread I can find... I think ive finally settled on the OBX headers solely due to the price. I have the cash for kooks, B&B, and SW headers but I just cant justify the extra coin right now.
I've read many back and forth posts about 1-3/4" VS 1-7/8" primaries... I never really did find a general concesus as to which I should go with. I read that majority went with 1-7/8 but then read conflicting statements and dyno charts showing that torque was actually lost.
Im searching for some advice as to which size to get. Nitrous might be in my near future...Eventually Id like to add a blower but that is a few years down the road. ANY advice is more than welcome. As of now car is basically stock with a w4m tune.

if you're going big with it later on, even if you're not doing it now, just get the big ones (1-7/8").
otherwise i'm personally a fan of smaller primaries based on my own personal power goals.

I ordered the OBX headers which are stainless, 1-7/8" primaries with resonators and no cats. I also ordered stainless studs, DEI titanium spark plug protectors, OEM gaskets and a few odds and ends. The pics actually look worse than in person. Id say I would have been happier paying $450... than $605 shipped. They are not perfect but appear to be decent quality with decent welds, majority are tigged with a few mig spots in hard to reach places. They come with some real trashy looking gasket and cheap looking bolts...no thanks. I plan to get these in this weekend. I did not order O2 extensions as Ive read most people didnt use them. I also am not positive if my W4M tune has the rear O2's turned off or not.
**NAF--I didnt see your post about headers for sale untill Now.. Not sure if I would have wanted non-stainless... also arent you in kuwait? whats the shipping time for that? lol

It seems like you have three choices:
1 Wrap Header
2 Wrap starter and alt. wires
3 A long walk home after the wires melt https://ls1tech.com/forums/cadillac-...part-deux.html
Seriously look at wrapping something as this has happened to a few people. I personally wrapped the starter and alt wires. The headers look pretty now, but will discolor some, worse if it is exposed to weather and deicing chemicals. Good Luck!

Headers are installed. No real issues other than had to dimple for steering arm clearance. It was probably 1/16" touching..but I tapped them in a little more leaving maybe 1/4" gap between two tubes and the steering arm. I wrapped the starter with dei starter blanket. And also wrapped a few wires like the starter wire with dei reflective wire wrap.. Seems good. Car feels quicker, revs quite a bit free'er.. Deeper tone in the exhaust. Idles a little weird.

Just a warning:
DO NOT WRAP your headers.
I went through this and did one heck of a job (I thought).
I had some major emission work done and got chewed out by the exhaust guy about wrap.
He showed me a set of headers (what was left of them) that had been wrapped.
Wrapping traps condensation and just eats the crap out of them.
If you want to do anything to them, go with HOT JET COATING.
