Default 300 rwhp ?

Another HP Question lol

Is it possible to hit 300 rear wheel horsepower with a 96 z28 6 speed stock internals LT1.

Right now car has- CAI, 2.5 inch straight pipes after the I pipe muffler.

Going to add- Throttle body bypass, air foil, maybe the 160 degree thermostat with fans that turn on early, headers, Y-pipe, and a good dyno tune. I don't want to put in a cam or rockers yet!

Do you think it might hit 300rwhp with all these mods done to it?

Bolt ons will make 300rwhp through a M6.

I was guessing maybe 280 at the wheel if I am lucky. I was thinking that a small cam might be needed to put down 300 at the wheel.

You should be close to 300rwhp with those mods. Could always do set of springs for a hot cam and 1.7rr. That would get you 300 easy. Spring be around 50 used and probly 200 to 300 for rockers.

You won't need a cam, but I doubt you'll make it without rockers and springs.

I made 294 with bolt ons and a mail order tune.

Remember, every dyno will read differently.

I'm with bowtienut. I'd expect low to mid 12's at least.
Best 12.82 @ 104 also 309 rwhp pushing 3900#

How the hell..... I can barely get a 13.3 with 294 HP. My 60's suck pretty bad though. Getting slicks this year and some drag shocks.

Pat is very skilled at getting the most from a setup so I wouldn't expect many folks to equal his results but they do speak volumes about what is possible.

Dynos also correct for weather so while HP numbers should be consistent across the country track conditions aren't. He gets nice east coast weather to race in.

That is in NO WAY a comment against him, same track same day I believe his 350 Impala will wax most stroker f-bodies. Just saying that I wouldn't expect a relative novice to get a bolton f-body to low 12s in Nebraska.
What is the MPH? That should tell us something about potential. 13.3 at 103 says it wont go much quicker, but 13.3 at 110mph says there is a LOT of 60ft time to be gained.

I'm an engineer geek I get a kick out of tweaking things to the max, and it helped that I had a friendly rivalry going for a few years with an east coast guy for the title of "world's fastest bolt-on ImpalaSS". Believe it or not, there was more in it than those 12.3x passes show. After a few more improvements, it was running 12.4x's and 12.5x's regularly here at 1000' Midwest tracks for a couple of years after that. I just never made it back east for some more glory passes.

**** I trapped 103 and ran 13.8 best a couple years ago.
That was only with exhaust, intake, short throw, home tune.
60ft was 2.4 though haha. It was at a local track not a professional track.

I haven't ran this year but I have full suspension, 4.10s, and 10.5 slicks and 4.5 skinnies.
