oil leak
I've got an oil leak somewhere, I assumed it was the rear main since I just swapped the auto for a manual. Took it apart, and there's no oil on the clutch or anything, but there are fresh oil spots all the way around the rear of the engine, like it had been seeping through from the top somewhere. It is extremely dirty on tge rear of the intake. The bottom inch of the heads are pretty dirty too. I don't have a cooling issue, so I don't think it's the head gaskets. Is it the intake?

VERY likely
when you had the tranny out for the swap....would have been very easy to see....now if you run your hand along the back of the intake...and you have oil on your fingers....you have a rear intake leak which is very common
while rear main seals can leak...not nearly as likely as intake
sometimes the oil sender on the back of intake can leak but again more likely it is the manifold
I have always used FelPro "printo" intake gaskets and Permatex "black ultra" RTV
