Default How do I remove the studs on my truck manifolds?

When these were pulled off the threads were fubar on the passenger side and the driver side was cut off just after the stock o2 sensor and the nuts on that side are fubar as well. I have tried that cheap *** stud puller kit from NAPA, tried the 2 nut method and tried vice grips. Nothing is working.

I have soaked the bolts in Break Away for a couple nights prior to starting. I know most just run the stock bolts with new nuts but with as badly as the threads are messed up I would like to remove them and start over.

Any help?

Acetylene torch is the best way if you have access. Helps greatly if you can weld a nut on the stud.

That's what I was afraid of. I don't have access to either at my house so I will have to take them some place.

If there is a hardware or similar store nearby that sells Mapp gas type blowtorches, they make plenty of heat and are handy to have about.

But it may well take heat to get them out.....or cut them off and drill out, but that's a last resort

you can always try a weld a wrench i.e. metal handle/breaker bar to them and just try and turn them out
