Default 3 BAR MAP LS6 intake

I bought the ZR1 3 BAR MAP (pn: 12592525) and just realized that the connector is different than the male connector on my LS1 harness (04 GTO). Is my only option here to buy the expensive Lingenfelter adapter harness?

I'm also reading online that the MAP sensor in question doesn't even fit in the hole for the MAP on the LS6 intake. True or false?

Yep, just verified it. The LS3 MAP sensor doesn't fit in the MAP sensor hole in the back of my LS6 intake...FML.

how much boost are you planning on running? I see a lot of guys using the Cobalt SS 2 bar map. Should be a PnP

Can't you just run the ZR1 MAP senor remotely? Then just plug your stock hole, or secure the stock MAP in it to plug it.

I could drill and tap the hole and put a NPT fitting with a barb in it but I'd rather not. And I'd still have to do something about the electrical connectors being different types and not fitting. If I can find a plug and play 3 BAR I'd rather just return this one.

It is one of the best. You get what you paid for. I have a cobalt 2 bar map, and it cost me 108 at the stealership.

The 35 dollar price tag to me is a dead give away that it isn't. I wouldnt trust it reading 20+ psi of boost. But that is just me.

Yeah good point... figured it would be too good to be true. Thinking it over, I will probably just tap the rear MAP hole and put a fitting on it to to run this ZR1 MAP. I just hate to have to spend $30 on a harness adapter to make it work. The fitting I could care less about because I already have some quick fit fittings that will work.

Nothing wrong with the EFI source sensor... price doesnt always reflect quality... I mean cmon i sell the stock ZR1 map for 36 bucks.... by your reasoning its not any good either.....

As long as your getting the right liner offset for the map then your good. Personally I buy mine from dsteck which makes them himself I'm sure others work well also just get the data

Thanks for clarifying that John, good to know. Just did some research on it and appears to be working great for many people. Do you know the parameters for it by chance?

Are you sure about these numbers? Only reason I ask is because EFIsource just told me that they don't even know the values since megasquirt doesn't need em.

Dsteck will not tell you the numbers unless you buy his sensor. I know because I built my own, and asked for his help with the linear and offset. He responded and declined to tell me.
I calculated them from the transfer function. I am not convinced that calculation gives the correct offset.

Anyway, I'm using mine anyway.

So if anyone has Dsteck's sensor and would care to share those numbers with me in private, I'd like a sanity check of my values. I used the same Freescale 3 bar sensor he uses.

Ron
