It's from a 2002 silverado, I'm not pulling the heads the car ran when I pulled the motor just the head gasket is gone and it hasn't been sitting for long but ya if I were to buy it I would take them off and clean it up

lq4 stopped in 2000 i thought? It has the 317 heads from what i looked up it was a lq9. Thanks for letting me know water might be in it....Motor is for sale as is for best offer. Thanks

Lq4 did not stop in 2000. Lq4 and Lq9 share the same heads. Lq4 has dished pistons and the Lq9 has flat top pistons.
Pull the spark plugs out and rotate the crank pulley to try and push the water out of the spark plug holes. Than drain the oil. No need to pull the heads to get the water out if your just trying to sell the motor. Let the buyer pull the heads when it gets rebuilt. But definitely pull plugs and drain oil.

okay i turned the motor and put some oil in the cylinders nothing really came out the old oil was already drained, Thank you you guys i appreciate the help. good deal for someone shoot me a offer need this thing gone i have 2 of them!
