Default low oil pressure/bearing issues?

I was making some pulls the other day and noticed my oil pressure was acting strange. It would creep up with rpm to around 50psi, but then drop and settle around 40psi. Hot idle then dropped to 20psi. I did an oil and filter change today and it started up with 26psi cold idle... :/

6.0 with a melling high pressure/high volume that used to make a lot more pressure.

drain the oil in a clean pan and look for metal/copper . and cut the filter open and see what you have if it looks clean try a different guage but if not get it out before it kicks a rod out. a lot cheaper before it breaks.

I'll pick up a filter cutter tomorrow and check it out. Oil looked normal coming out but other than what I kept in the filter the rest has all mixed in my drain container

I've had issues with my clutch preloading against my throw out bearing due to too thick of stack height... Went through 2 throw out bearings about 1,000 miles each till I realized the problem (clutch didn't slip). Could those 2,000+ miles of pressure take out a thrust bearing?

Forgot I'd made this thread last year:

So even though I couldn't remember exactly where it was at, it's down a ton at 20psi hot.

Your's is doing what mine is. You are losing your main bearing. When I drained my oil it was silver. New junker goes in next weekend.

I saw the lightest grey/silver trail flow out with some of the oil from the bottom of the pan, but it was so small I didn't think much of it. Like a pinch of salt worth.

So I'll probably find silver in the oil filter in a few hours?

Here's the filter material... seems ok to me, but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for, so I took a ton of pics of both sides of the filter
