Default Race Ready Performance e-cutout - Lifetime Warranty

Just thought I would post this up to see if anyone is running one of these, and also to inform anyone looking into a cutout - this one has a lifetime warranty!

American made in Ft Worth, TX - everything looks quality! very nice kit

I was recommended this cutout by my tuner, he says it's the only one he uses that seems to hold up well.

I went with the single 3" setup and got everything in a kit (#EC300S-K20): Y-pipe (dynomax), dump pipe, RRP electronic cutout, flanges, gaskets, hardware, band-clamps, wire harnesses with toggle switch, and even a T-shirt (sells for $319.99 US on their website)

The Y-pipe is expanded at both ends and is designed to slip over your existing 3" pipe and seals with the band-clamps, no welding required...I will be getting mine welded on anyways for the $60 it'll cost me (and not have to lay on my back to do it), but nice for DIY if you have a sawzol

Aluminum housing and butterfly that looks to have a good tight seal

Plug n play wire harnesses with toggle switch and 3A fused power connection

Cutout will be placed on the I-pipe in the common under-the-passenger-seat spot and wired through the floor under carpet to the console, switch probably mounted in ashtray, and using a switched power source

I've been thinking about getting a cutout for a few months now...main goals were to uncork lost power (if any) from my factory OTL CME catback (mainly just for track visits), and also just for the fun factor of flipping a James Bond switch and waking the dead

After install, car will be thrown on the dyno to check A/F, power differences, and see how badly I just wasted my money looking for more

Seriously, power differences seem to be all over the place based on others' results, I'm not expecting a lot (5-10rwhp seems average & no one seems to lose power) but I'd like to see for myself what it'll do...also, down the road I'm sure a H/C/I setup won't mind the extra flow

stay tuned for dyno and track results and of course a couple sound clips!

Interested to see how much the stock cat back is holding back. In for results.

Okay, cutout is installed:

Very nice kit, Y-pipe just slipped over existing I-pipe and had it welded on...
I routed the wiring through the body plug close-by, under rear passenger seat, under carpet to console, with switch sitting in ash tray...disconnected cigarette lighter and used its constant 12V lead for power and just used a small screw on the SRS module mount for a ground.

This sounds awesome inside the car @ WOT!

Seals very well when closed, no leaks or ticking at all.

Got the car on the dyno today @ Champion Motors...put down 341rwhp/350rwtq with cutout closed and 344rwhp/354rwtq cutout open...

so there's a gain of 3rwhp/4rwtq...not much, but hey, it's a gain, and dyno graph showed a gain through the whole powerband...I still feel it was worth the money, the two gains here are a little power and a lotta fun

also, looks like the factory SLP CME catback has very little restriction for a bolt-on car...however for H/C/I down the road, I wouldn't be suprised to see more of a gain....only time will tell

I'll post up some 1/4 mile results when I get to the track.

Cheers!

I like that turndown. I might have to see if they sell it
loose.

But what a lifetime warranty from a small aftermarket
performance supplier is worth, that's hard to predict.
They come and they go. Often before the product
wears out. And, in fact, being too liberal with the
"lifetime warranty" is a good way to find yourself
going under in a hurry, if the product does turn out
to have a warranty problem.

And little motors & gearboxes, constantly cooked and
never maintained, do wear out in a few years. These
guys are just waiting for that lesson to hit home.

My tuner uses these, and he says they've given him no issues...we shall see

With regards to the turndown, looking at their 2009 catalog, it's part #STSS300...can't find it on their website though, you may have to give them a call

Look's like a nice setup, but I'd ditch the 4 nylon lock nuts, for either Stover or Jet style locknuts.

Got one of these few years back and didn't install it on my 99 but now think going to put it on my 02 and maybe on my 99 if keep my 99 not sure if keeping it right now.

I had some cutouts in the past but the ones I had either quit working or leaked when closed which was very annoying.

I would also like to know if you can set this in between full open and full closed?

I likely will get mine installed in next few weeks.
