Coolant and oil pres gauges fluctuating like crazy I've always had a ground issue with this car since I can remember, sometimes it would not start and I'd have to wiggle the negative battery terminal. Things only got worse, the headlights would take a few attempts to come up. The voltage dips when I hit the brakes/ use any accessories. Now the most annoying thing, the temp and oil pressure gauges are flying all over the place.
I had the alternator rebuilt, wire brushed the battery terminal/ installed a new bolt for the connector. I checked all grounds for the PCM (RH motor mount, above starter, by coil, and the braided wire on the DS side) all being intact and fairly clean. I checked the wiring for the coolant gauge sender and its intact.
What gives? Wire brushing the negative terminal helped the most, but the gauges still fluctuate. Every once in a while my tach will skip like crazy too. Any ideas?
