Default Newbie to forums 1997 Camaro Z28 Plastidipped Blurple ***Pic Heavy!!!***

What's up this is my first full car dip using the gallons and a sprayer after a bunch of reach and a lot research and second guessing I decided on the Blureple cuz I liked the Blurple gtr in this thread http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/sho...de-Performance and tried to mimic it.
I am posting pics of the the car on the day that I bought it for $1700 and the progression of dipping it black with cans then the some of the prep work and the spraying of the car.

Lessons learned: I decided to dip on a Friday night in New Orleans during termite season cuz I was impatient I just wanted to see how it would turn out, I didn't put up a canopy I just did it in my back yard, I need some bodywork namely a new bumper and a fender so I didn't bother to get all the surfaces smooth I just wanted to shoot!!!, I had to learn my gun that I bought from lowes which is the earlex for $119 woulda bought the dip gun but backordered when I purchased the dip and didn't want to wait, I was fighting time trying to maximize daylight and avoid the coming of the termite swarm so I was spraying heavy but adjusted the gun on the last 3 coats to get the dip a bit more even. I had fun and can't wait to dip my truck blurple too.

Material List
50 Grams World Rally Blue
50 Grams HKS Purple
1 Gallon of Matte Clear
1 Gallon of Glossifier
Several Cans of black dip as a base coat

Purchase Day...

dipped bumper

dipped faded black parts

First Coat

Third Coat as the sun was setting

Let 4th coat dry overnight morning shots before last 3 light coats and spot touch up

final product

remember it used to look like this!!!

you should apply gloss on top of the black plasti dip on the sail panel, would look good with the gloss black wheels you have over the matte look.
This looks amazing by the way. =]

I got about a quart left over and will shoot my truck the same color cuz I always wanted matching whips so I'll have some left over from that shoot.

you know what I agree. I will do this tomorrow after I figure out how to get the damned window regulator properly installed...
I keep a can of black and just happen to have a can of gloss on deck as well

Substantial improvement over the "before" picture. I'm a fan of the color.

From 10 feet away that looks amazing. I give you credit for having the guts to do it yourself.
