Default bird wont start... help

Bird won't start. 2000 TA. I'm guessing its something with security system. Charged battery hooked it up. Lights flipped up maybe 1/4 way. Opened door had dome lights etc. Turned key I hear the ding ding and when I turn the key all I get it a click and that's it.... help

Repetitive clicking or like one click and nothing? Security light?

If the lights are only going a 1/4 of the way up the battery may not be holding the charge. Sounds like the battery is too weak to turn the engine over. A while back I killed my battery, stone dead, and then I had trouble jumping my car because the jumper cable had wasn't fully contacting the battery post- with the weak connection I had the same problem you're describing, i'd get faint power to accessories and a clicking noise when I turned the key. Once I realized the jumper was not on all the way and made sure the connection was good the car fired right up.

Let us know if you get it started!

I got it started. It was the battery. Took it up to advanced auto parts. they tested it. came back as weak. They charged it and still would not start. Took battery back to interstate battery and they offered to charge it up. I figured what the hell. Better then buying a new battery. got her home and she fired right up.
