Default 2009 4.8 single turbo build help

I have a 4.8 out of a 2009 Tahoe with less than 40k miles and need help with a simple single turbo setup. I was reading the 09 4.8 has floating wrist pins, stainless steel fuel rails, 799 heads, coated hyperutectic pistons, and stronger rods than the gen III 4.8. So far I bought a 98-02 camaro ls1 oil pan and intake. I bought the oil pan to fit into my 64 Bel Air but not sure if I should change the truck intake. Im going to use a fiberglass cowl hood so clearance is not an issue anymore. What recommendations do you have for my stock single turbo 4.8? What parts on the motor need to be upgraded, like injectors, tb, cam, springs, ect.... What size turbo? Turbo piping size? I will be using the stock exhaust manifolds. Im shooting for 600 to the wheels. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Nate

A lot of your question can be answered by looking at similar builds, but I would think about budget first and foremost.. For the price the s475, 2.25 piping, 80lb injectors to have some room to play since 600 will probably be surpassed lol as for motor id just run head studs and let it eat..

Thanks, I want to follow the guy doing the budget Ford Fairmont builds. Yes, im sure 600 hp will be surpassed lol. Where are guys buying the s475 for 300 bucks from? I look on ebay and they are priced 600-900. So is there a standard s475 turbocharger or is there a particular one better for my setup? I will be running a th400.

x2 ^^^^ do this and you will be happy and more than surpass your goal. Also look into re-gapping rings .026 to .030 and ls9 head gaskets.

head studs , mls gaskets , cam , springs , that oil pan the new motors have high pressure high volume oil pump and the oil pans have a pressure relief valve in the oil pans .. the older camaro oil pans do not , but you can drill and tap and install the relief valve .. And i have pushed 17 lbs on stock gen4 motor , only had valve springs on it ,, heads never unbolted .. 18lbs started pushing water .. arp head bolts simple fix

Whats a good general boost cam for this setup? I know convertor, weight, boost all play factors. Which springs? And im told ls9 head gaskets. Im understanding the 799 heads will flow just fine. How much power were you putting down with mid teens boost pressure? Thanks for the help
