Default Headers: ARH 1 7/8 vs Kooks 1 7/8

A few opinions needed before purchase, who makes a better 1 7/8 header for a 4th gen camaro? As far as quality, clearing, and performance. Both headers are expensive so im just looking to get some feedback before I make my purchase.

Both are great but I lean more toward Kooks just because their true dual system is bad ***. And if you call Maryland speed you will usually get a better price on Kooks than buying online.

x2 I'll be getting Kooks because of their true dual system. The price is astronomical but they'll never be a restriction and the sound is amazing.

How much did the 2" primary headers set you back?

What this guy said. At this point, you're kind of splitting hairs. I've had both on different cars and they both fit excellent!

I just finished installing kooks 1 7/8" and ORY. First off, let me start by saying the quality of these pieces are top notch. The passenger side fits great and has plenty of clearance.

My only complaint is that the drivers side was a PITA to get in and is now resting against the motor mount pedestal and banging against the k member.

I personally would go ARH. Its because of the Kooks Y pipe. Yes, I know its been updated but it took them how long? Great headers no doubt though. OP if you go Kooks with a Y pipe make sure you get the updated one.

Does anyone know if the kooks y-pipe steps from 4" to 3" after the merge? I know ARH does but I can't tell for sure looking at pictures.

Yeah, I'll need to do some "clearancing" before it's all said and done. For all I know it could be saggy motor mounts and not the headers themselves.

ARH stainless steel, race headers 2" primary to 3" collector (custom to match my ARH 3" Y) were $1,050

*sold my prior ARH 1 7/8" for $750 I love selling old parts to offset new parts

I have heard far to many times about KOOKS customer service being poor. ARH always hear good things! When I need to upgrade that's who gets my business. OP call both company's, I do this often to see if one or the other just try's to rush and get off the phone or anything of that nature. Done this a bunch and spent a bunch with the same company's after the original purchase. Customer service and being helpfully is high on my list.
