Help me decide on a blower
I have a lq9 block 408 going into a holden commodore (2004 Pontiac GTO) im aiming for 1000rwhp through a th400 and 9" rear end. I have been tossing up between the f1r and f1x blowers cant seem to decide. Will be on a aussie made billet bracket, similar to the d1sc kit gto bracket but designed for a cog belt. At this power level which blower will be more efficient? Will the gto bracket fit the f1x and will it be strong enough to hold it? The billet one is a little tuffer than the procharger bracket and I will be bracing it to the shock tower to stop twisting forward on the bracket. Will not be racing any class which limits my choice, and if the f1r is the better choice but cant quite get me there im ok with running some spray also.
Engine is:
Lq9 block
lunati billet crank and rods
cp forged pistons 11:1 comp
Ls3 heads
232/242 @.050 .660 lift 115lsa cam
All arp studs
Run on e85

Good deal!
With stock style LS3 heads you'll be limited to how much boost you can run before you start pushing water, but as Blown06 has mentioned, the F-1X is a more efficient blower. The F-1X would be there for you as you progress up to a six bolt block and head combination. Bob

Yes it should when compared to an F-1R. Bob
