Default No pcv valve... Wtf

Alright so basically I was going to replace my pcv valve and at first I looked around the valve covers and realized it's not like the old sbc style's... So after re-searching for the last hr I went and looked for it which it should be along the line that connects to TB and has foam over it. Well it's not there so I just want to check if this idling surging I have is because the pcv missing... Basically while idling the car has a slight surge then I take the oil cap off and boom it idles just fine so that'd make me think my pcv valve is shut but not missing correct???

Just wondering if somehow I missed the pcv valve

EDIT: Oh and I also disconnected the pcv line about halfway and I can blow/suck straight threw it so that should mean the pcv valve isn't there and I didn't overlook it huh?

So should I add a inline pcv valve or just put a air breather on my oil cap spot?

the stock PCV valve should be right in front of the intake manifold on the passenger side of the throttle body.

Post a picture so we can see what you're working with.

Yes a picture would help. If its missing, yes I would install one. The lines are notorious for rotting so the previous owner may have replaced some/all of them and deleted the PVC while he was at it.

IMO, Google "LS1 PCV routing" , it should help give you a better visual reference .

Yes ^^^ This is exactly how my entire pcv system is routed... Is it a bad thing?
It even has the hose that's labeled vent hose routed to TB like in pic.

Okay, so now we at least know it's still routed in the stock configuration.
No, not bad.
FYI, the PCV should be around 4" back on the line that's connected to the side of the intake manifold.

Ok well im gonna buy the pcv tomorrow and just put it close to where the hose connects to TB then, or does it really not matter how far it's put in-line?
Thanks for the help guys.
