G2 Caliper Paint Sucks

G2 Caliper Paint Sucks
So, I used this on my calipers. Everything seems to talk about ease of use, etc. It is easy to use. It was about 80 degrees with pretty good humidity. But it was the best day in the last two weeks to do this.
I hate the results.
I took my grinder with some 180 grit sandpaper wheel and knocked down the ridge on my calipers and then smoothed with some 400 grit sandpaper to prep the calipers. I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. It went on evenly in light coats, letting it cure a good 15-20 mins between coats, but it always had brush strokes in it.
Adding more paint to the brush didn't change anything, it always had brush strokes in it even with a loaded brush. And it hardened pretty fast. Maybe doing it in Florida in the summer gives these results? I tried to do some 1600 grit wet sanding and all it did was take the luster out of the paint. Then I tried some VHT clear and that just looked like a glaze over the top. So I said screw everything and sanded everything off.
Here are the pics:
As you can see, in direct light, the calipers don't look smooth at all.
You can see how the light isn't shining uniformly off the paint.
In person it looks even worse. It's smooth to the touch, but it looks like something I did in the backyard.
Is there anything else out there besides powder coating (which was my first choice)?

Maybe try a spray paint? I'm in Virginia and plan to repaint mine tomorrow. It'll be 85 out with only 57% humidity in the day. I believe I bought a duplicolor can, I'll let you know how it goes.

I sanded them some more and have some additional G2 I'm going to try before I say **** it. The reason I did it is the self-leveling properties, no baking (which will make my house smell like a rotted *****), and the protection. It's really thick and hard to get off. But it cures chemically and fast. So I gotsta hurry!
