Smile HCI ls1 gto vs 347 gt hatch... outcome?

Hey guys I have been working on my 2004 gto for sometime, here is what we have so far.

Engine
PRC 2.5 Ls6 heads
228r cam
Kooks longtubes
3 inch dyno max bullets, no cats
fast 90

Transmission/ suspension
t56 spec 3 clutch
Hurst short throw
Drag bags, 05-06 half shafts with cages

With weight reduction and the bogarts wheels I weigh in at 3,480 here is the opponents car and specs

1987 gt hatch

347 10:1
procomp 210cc heads
x 303 cam
Victor JR intake
holley 750 dp
1 5/8 long tubes to 3 inch flowmaster 40 series
full msd ignition

Transmission/suspension

c4 with revers manual valve body
4000 stall
3:73
stock style suspension with 90/10 shocks
weld pro stars fats and skinnies
Tips the scales at 3,300 pounds almost even

He wants to do a 1000 dollar grudge match in july...Do I stand a chance or should I respectfully bow out. I think I have a chance at uner 3500 pounds

unless you are rich 1000.00 bucks seams steep. if the fox races for big money all the time, I'm sure he is leaving something out. I can't believe he weighs in at 3300pds unless he has sand in the trunk. good luck

No chance in hell that is the build of that fox if he really wants to race for $1,000.

He's lying. Period. Those heads are ok on a small cube motor, that's a meh cam at best, and unless he weighed it with a family of Mexicans in the hatch, it's considerably lighter than he's saying. Don't do it.

If that is his combo, I won't say that it will run bad, but I won't say that it will run good either. It looks to be a bad combination on paper with the cam and headers, but I've seen bad looking combinations work better than anyone would think.
As far as the weight, my 85 GT weighed 3400 pounds with me in it. It was a full weight street car with a/c.

Ok so I chatted with him today, he weighs actually 3100 with him in the car. The 347 is almost 11:1 with cleaned up procomp heads with the x cam, claims to put 380 down. He has a lot of off the shelf parts, but he does run 11.80's-11.90's I have watched the car do that with a shitty converter. Now with a PTC 4500 actually he said it should run better. I think im going to do it anyway. I have faith in my fat *** goat lol

With his weight and hp compared to yours this could be a tight race. Are you racing from a dig or roll?

For his weight and hp, that's pretty close. I do agree that with a better convertor, he could go faster.
