Bought my DEI titanium wrap for my hot side and down pipes, I'll be using safety wire to secure it and I'm using aluminized steel.

Should I paint the tubing with anything before wrapping it?

Soak the wrap in water. Then wrap it really tight. Use hose clamps.

I've read the titanium wrap doesn't need to be wet like others.

My main concern is about painting the tubes prior too... needs to be done or not?

I painted mine with vht flame proof before wrapping them with dei titanium. I used safety wire and hose clamps to make sure it was snug all around.

Just wrap it dry. It will wrap tight, then once it heats up it kinda bakes in.

if you read the instructions on their website it says just put the wrap on the exhaust. no spray, no treating it. Read instructions.

I painted mine first with that 1200* flame proof paint you get from the auto parts store. I just let it sit in the sun for an hour or 2 then wrapped it. Put the wrap in a bucket of water first. I've done it both ways dry and wet, and trust me it's much easier to use wet. Make sure to wear some rubber gloves or something cause that stuff if full of fiberglass.

I put the pipe that I was wrapping in my vice, and that way I can maneuver around it, and keep it pulled tight as I go around. Also, be sure to where gloves. And try not to overlap the wrappings as you go, as it wastes the wrap. I was able to wrap my full crossover pipe, and my full downpipe out the fender with 25 feet I think.

The dei titanium doesn't need water. It stretches good and will tighten up when it gets hot! just start and one end and start wraping lol

You guys realize op has titanium wrap that doesn't need to be wet right? Op I have titanium wrap. I also had my pipes coated with high temp treatment previously. Just wrap them tight dry and you're good to go.
