Ok cool and it calls for 3.6 pints but i keep hearing people putting 2 quarts and a limited slip additive if the gear oil i am using is limited slip do i still need the additive

You only need the additive if you have a clutch pack style differential. That would only include 98's if everything is stock. Otherwise, 99-02 will have a Torsen*. The Torsen T2 recommends 75-90 synthetic. Use conventional gear oil and additive with a clutch pack style. Do not overfill -- just add until fluid comes out of the top hole on the passenger side the housing.
*SS/Firehawk could have an Auburn with the clutch packs as a SLP option. You would want to use the additive if so.

I use the GM fiber gasket since it is thicker than the Felpro paper gasket. No RTV.
Your Valvoline 80W90 LS already has limited slip additive in it (that's why it says Limited Slip).
