Default TU1.5 in a 5.3

So here is the run down, keep in mind that this is not a street car

Thirdgen camaro 3500lbs
Junkyard 5.3
Head studs
Pac 1218
706 non castech heads
Ebay GT45 68mm
Meth Injection
Built TH400
3500 Stall
9" rear 3:50 gears
28" drag radial

What are your thoughts on the tu1.5 and the 5.3?

I picked the cam up local dirt cheap but I am wondering if I would have been better off with stock cam.

I don't think it sounds like a bad setup. I've heard a lot of people say that the technology has changed a lot and their are better cams out there now but if you got it for cheap, why not try it?

Thanks for the reply. I have the cam in the car and it did not perform to expectation, I am sure I have more tuning to do. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't chasing my tail.

The car is just a nasty pig from dig, 1.8 has been my best 60ft time and I picked up no time on the big end. Like I said I still need to work on the tune but I thought I would pick up a couple MPH with cam only with a rough start on the tune. FYI I could not finish the tune at the track due to throwing a belt.

part of the reason is the intake valve close is super late on the TU stuff IMO.... If you had a way to advance the camshaft 4 degrees it would help.

Thinking of ditching the GT45 and replacing with the new ON3 78/76 how would this cam work with the new turbo? You can PM if you like. Would I gain that much from a custom spec cam?
