Default 01 ls1 motor what year 4l60 can i use?

I recently purchased a 2001 ls1 out of a Camaro . The guy i bought it off had it hooked up to a built t400 and gave me a stock t400 that he had laying around but i was thinking about upgrading to a 4l60e.

What year range 4l60e do i need to look for that would work with my motor and computer ? Or should i buy a 700r4?

thanks,

Your 2001 Camaro with LS1 will work with any '98 to '07 4L60E, 4L65E or even early 4L70E. HOWEVER - it MUST be from a LS engine car to ensure it has the necessary 300mm input shaft, which is also indicated by a bolt hole in the 12 O'Clock position in the bell housing.
