instead of rebuilding the 5.3 you could find a low mile lq4 and you might save some money doing that. It will also boost you up from 5.3lt to 6.0lt and it is already a low comp motor. Then you could always go with a nice, proven turbo like a s475 or something like a turbonetics t76 or even a precision 76xx depending on your goals.

Turbo depends on your power goals. We can't recommend one without knowing what you're looking to end up with.

And the 5.3 is just fine, not reason to go to a 6.0 unless you already have one laying around.

I spoke with cougar20 last night through PM's as he was interested in the turbo I have sale (88mm) and I was thinking a Whipple or Maggie would be better for his application. That off idle torque would get those 37's turning.

Default Turbo

I would guess were looking to be in the 550-650 hp range but were looking for that down low. Cool thing is i'm in the granite business and doing trade out with AMP here in Phoenix, AZ. Chris the main wrench man is working with me on it. AMP primarilydoes Mustangs and Ford products but they are among the best in the country for this. Being this is a Chevy which i do give him **** all the time about. Just giving him info. on what has worked and what hasn't. I purchased this truck new want to keep original motor in it. Odometer about to hit 400,000. I can tell you i havent replaced one thing on truck except water pump. and tranny rebuilt by hughes performance because rear end aftermarket locker locked up at 65 mph. Engine run same as the day I bought it. Perfect. any sugestion would be great. Thx guys

With modest goals I'd say 7875 or similar on a .96 A/r t4 flange.

It's kind of a go to setup on tech and has worked VERY well for a ton of folks. The BW s475 is nice too. Cheap but large physically.

475 would be my first choice.. easily get you past 700rwhp and spools nice even on my little 302/+.050 4.8
