Penzoil platinum plus
So on a whim I felt like trying Pennzoil Platinum plus 5w30 oil. Since its all the same price from 0w30, 5w40 and 5w30 b/w my normal Castrol and Pennzoil, why not. First off, noticed that it is about 5psi less on hot idle than Castrol. 35 vs 40. Nothing big, but on cruise you can see the gap widens to roughly 50 psi vs Castrol's 60 psi. WOT is 60 psi vs maybe 75 psi for the Castrol.
We'll see how oil consumption goes, I'm usually down 1 qt per 2.5k miles with Castrol.

Which Castrol were you using the 'GC' (German Castrol 0W-30, now made in Belgium)??
If so, that is one of the very thickest 30 weights by cSt @100*C, and HTHSV, almost a light 40 weight, hence the higher oil pressures.
The Pennzoil synthetic GTL (gas to liquid) oils are somewhat light for 30 weight oils, therefore the lower oil pressures indicated.
They (Pennzoil) do not as of yet offer a 0W-30 oil, at least not here in the states.
