I'll try to disclose information to the best of my ability, I'm not as knowledgeable as a mechanic or engine builder.
Picked up these forged pistons used with a set of rods. Keeping the rods, getting rid of the pistons. I have no idea on the history of the pistons.
7 of the 8 pistons are usable.
1 of the pistons was said to be dropped and broke a ring land.
There is 1 other piston that looks like it may have had some valve contact on its face? But probably still usable. See picture of individual piston.
There are a few pistons that have nicks on the crowns of them. Nothing major that would detour re-use. I'd probably have a machine shop take a file to them, or yourself if capable. There is one nick that rises above the piston face that would most definitely need to be filed down. However is minimal.
All the side skirts show normal wear on their coating. No major problems or anything you can feel with a finger nail.
Either way, a good deal in my opinion. I have been quote a price of $87 to replace an individual piston.
