Excellent thread and video. A++

I wish I had this information before I tore up my arms doing this the other year: https://ls1tech.com/forums/general-m...ding-unit.html

I do have ogre hands and mongoid arms... and they have permanent scars (from the cowl screws) to prove that I switched out this part.

The patented LSX14-left-handed-connector-clip-reach-around move would have saved me.

CONGRATS!!

But, you MUST HAVE tiny hands and arms AND NO emissions equipment at all on your ride.

The hardest part is getting the electrical connector off. As long as you have the right socket and a descent ratchet/extension, getting the sensor in and out is a piece of cake.

Didn't it look easy on the video?

I'm not jacked or anything. Just average build I guess you could say. It's all about the maneuvering haha. The hardest part was the clip honestly. And then lining the new sending unit up blind. You can feel the spot though if you really stretch to get down to the block with your finger. You have to ghost it either way but its not that bad TBH.

No emissions stuff, but you should be able to get around it without any trouble. I'd be more concerned with the AC hard lines up top but It should be plenty feasible.

Yes, I guess I can also call what I have to do to get the passenger side plugs into the heads, with factory manifolds and ALL emissions equipment still working, "ghosting them".

so u replaced the sending unit because ur oil low light came on even though it was full? i have a 2000 camaro SS that just had the oil changed and the low oil light came on. other than the light coming on does this have to be replaced, will it hurt just to disconnect? a repair shop wants to remove intake and charge me for all that labor. thx
