Default New 5.0 vs Stall/Geared Bolt on Formula

He ran a 12.93 stone stock, 1.62 60ft.. Never ran my car yet. 3.73 gears, 4000 stall, Ls6 intake, ported TB, full exhaust, and a lid. Both cars on street tires. I think its gonna be a close race. Any thoughts?

I think you got him. My buddy ran a 12.6x with same mods and a 3600 stall.

my friend ran an 11.9x with big n littles on a stock 5.0, so I'm assuming he is on street tires as well?

if youre car is 100% and assuming he has a premium heavier model... you should have the win. If its a stripped base model and he can drive... from a roll... hes got you. Just do a dig and blow his doors off.

Yeah, from a dig you shouldn't have any problem. Just stay away from higher rolls.

Good kill.

Did I read that right? 5.0 ran 12.9 with a 1.6 60ft!? Was he on radials or something? I would expect more out of a 5.0 with that solid of a 60.

Either way, you should have it, imo... Dig or lower rolls probably suits you better.

And btw, Good kill.

I'm thinking he meant to type 1.92? Maybe 2.62?

1.6 is a crazy solid 60ft to be running 12.9s, IMO. I wish I could cut that kinda 60. Hell, I'd be happy with a 1.9, 2.0 on street tires. A 1.6 ON STREETS sounds bogus as all hell to me. I watched a GTR cut a 1.7 on street tires.... a GTR.

He trapped 111, so I'm guessing at least a 1.9. He probably just mistyped. He's not to strip saavy

I second? third? fourth? the BS call on a 1.62 60' time. Hell, even a drag radial 5.0 would be stoked to run that 60' time without suspension upgrades or at a minimum a big stall upgrade/ or race clutch and gears upgrade.

Here is my midsummer (3000' DA) run back when I was LT w/cats, tune, tire 12.9 run which was typical of my 12.9 runs that day. His should look very similar if he ran 12.9 with a 1.9 60' time, though his 5.0 should be running more like a 12.9 @109mph with a 2.0 60' time if it's an auto. Slower if a stick.

He didn't go 1.62. But a stock 5.0 on a tire can in fact hit that.
