Default Gear Kit for Detroit Truetrac

So i am wanting to beef my rear end up without dropping the money on a 9". my build plan is to get the LPW rear cover and the JRE billet caps. I am also planning on the detroit truetrac and wanting to get either 3.70 or 3.73 gears. I dont plan on installing the actual truetrack or gears due to the chance to mess it up versus the fact its only a couple hundred at a shop. but i will be taking the pumpkin out and taking it to a shop.

now my main 2 questions are:
1-what is the best gear installment kit that works with the truetrack and doesnt come with a bunch of extra stuff i dont need and fits the right gears?
2-what gear company is recommended for either ratio?

thanks guys. im new to the forum and just looking for some knowledge

what kind of vehicle ?
If you're discussing 82-02 GM 7.5/7.625 10 bolt, there is no pumpkin to take out. The complete rearend would have to be taken to a shop. 3.73s' would be the ratio.

Yep, this post is confusing, if you could clarify vehicle type that would help.

the reason i ask between 3.70 or 3.73 is ive seen richmond sell their gears and have also seen lingenfelter with their 3.70 gears.

1. I've always used Ratech kits in the past and with good luck, but any major name supplier (Ratech, Motive, Richmond, Yukon) should be fine. There are different levels of kits. Obviously complete rebuild kits will be highest in cost, then they have partial rebuild kits, and finally gear install only kits. If you want to do nothing but install gears then the third one is what you want.
2. I've always had good luck with Motives, so thats what i continue to use.

from my understanding the truetracks come all self-contained. so with the addition of new gears i would only need the kit for the gears i assume?

2010 has a 8.6" gear.
this should have been put in the Gen5 Camaro drivetrain forum.

IF you can remember; did the Ratech kits come with U.S. made, SKF wheel, pinion, and carrier bearings, or something else (hopefully NOT China made)??
