Default Unexplained steering wheel shift and clicking noise

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I got an alignment right before my last hpde a few weeks ago, and after returning from one session I realized that the flat spot on my steering wheel was suddenly at about a 30-40 degree angle while driving straight where it had been flat. I have checked and everything seems tight in the steering linkages, front suspension, and wheel hubs. The wheels seem to still be aligned to each other, the steering wheel is just off. Also, there is a mechanical clack/click when turning the wheel at extremely slow speeds (may be there all the time but cannot be heard over wind/exhaust).

Again I just got out from under the car and everything seems tight, and I do not see anything broken or any cracks in the k member. Does anyone have any ideas/experience on what the root of this issue may be?

Thanks in advance!

did the alignment possibly involve disconnecting the steering rack from the steering wheel? I'm guess the coupling between the rack and the steering shaft is splined and you are off by one or two teeth.

I forgot to mention that the ABS INOP and ASR lights sometimes come on when I start the car now and stay on until I shut it off. This does not happen everytime I start it, but this only started happening after the steering wheel jumped during that hpde session.

This happened to me after I wheel hopped the car a few times.

My lower control arm brackets on the rear end were bent, they are welded on now and they won't do it again. The rear end was crooked in the car.

Also I broke the top off a shock and it hug up in the shock tower, did the same thing, crooked steering wheel because one side was higher than the other.

Make sure your lower control arms have not moved in the front, they have to be TIGHT after an alignment to not move tracking a car.

A guy on FRRAX had his K member crack and slit open cause this.
