comp cams 212/218 question
Hi all. Newbie here and I had a question regaurding the comp cams 212/218 114 grind. 1. how much low end torque will I pick up(more interested in low end torque over high end HP) 2. Probably a stupid question but here goes. Can I use stock valve springs with this grind. And 3. would getting those specs on a 112 separation help( I want a bit of a lope to it) Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

if u want tq and sound, get the hot cam... u hafta change springs with just about any cam worth changing to... there r alot better cams than that older small comp cam... TR220 is a great all around cam for both tq and hp, get the 112lsa if u want more tq and lope

we have a guy in NC with our stage 1 heads and this cam making 377rwhp and 400rwtq in an M6 through stock exhaust manifolds so it seems to preform well enough. all depends on what you are looking for.

Could you post a pic of that dyno sheet? Especially one that shows the torque from 1200 rpm & up. Thanks.

i have a c1 comp mti 222/222 hammer cam for sale w/springs$275. it will idle and drive just as nice as the 212/218 just give you more power. a guy on this site(cant remember who)told me when picking a cam always go bigger then you want so you don't change later. well...he was right,i switched cams again.

those sound like some pretty promising numbers, ForceFed. If you have any dyno sheets, please post. Mike C, I will consider your offer. I am also looking at the tiny comp cams 206/212 on 112 separation also. looks pretty good for monster torque. I know its a weak cam for power but Im all about torque. Any thoughts on that one? Thanks for all your input, guys, its greatly appreciated

The graph starts at 2000 rpms and goes to 6500rpm in 500rpm increments. he is coming out of the pedal at 5200-5500rpms for some reason , I was not at the dyno session.

Thanks for the post, forcefed. Anybody have thoughts on 206/212 on 110 or maybe even 108 separation. would that make the powerband really really narrow or just give more torque. Im sorry if these questions a really retarded but I want to make sure I get the right cam
