Default Cam/stall/full exhaust LS1 GTO vs LS6 CTS-V with a tune

video'd from the v. 40 roll to 120ish. ~2 cars(1 car between his front and my back, and one car from my front bumper to my back).

230/230 comp cam, headers, 3200 stall, tune. I have a tune that i got the day i bought my car.

You sure thats a 40 roll? That 2nd gear was MAD long. Thought it was a 3rd gear 60 start.
Either way, solid kill.

I'd be depressed if I had all that work and lost to a V with a tune. Bad setup on the LS1.

Yeah, well at a 40 in 2nd for me is different than for him. My 2nd goes to 60, his probably goes to 70-75 since it's a 4l60e on stock 3.42's(?) gears.

The car you're hearing is his, yes.

Gotcha. Makes sense. All I was thinking was... "Damn, I normally hit 3rd much much sooner than that". LOL

These Vs are geared strong. Again, good kill

That is a good kill, man! Good job.

My buddies 06 (LS2) GTO with bolt-ons make 37X rwhp and that car moves especially from a roll. I know that is an LS2 as compared to the LS1 in the vid but i would think a big stall, cam and full exhaust would make some good power. I would think the GTO would have the weight advantage also. I am pretty sure your "V" is heavier by a couple hundred pounds at least.
Your car moves out well.

I was under the impression that the LS1 GTOs were a little lighter than the LS2 because of the bigger 6.0L motor. Hence why I put ~ 200lbs

Good info! Not much of a difference between the LS1 and LS2 GTO and pretty close to the 05 CTV. Makes the kill even more impressive.

Having owned both a V and the ls2 GTO 6spd. The V feels much snapper at a roll up to about 135. After that its all GTO the V is like a brick wall past 140 lol.

What's the gearing like in a cts-v? I would think your 2nd should go well past 60. Mine does with 3.90's.

Ls1 and ls2 engines should weigh the same or atleast very very close. It's the same **** for the most part.

My title says 3850 as weight. Wiki has it the same. 3850.
The difference is about 100 lbs, but we come with 3.73s.
