Default squealing a/c belt question

I've been going through thw threads for over an hour and have decided to start my own. Okay...in the last year I've changed the ac belt twice. With New belt, its quiet for like a month or 2. Then squeal! Replaced an idler..same thing. When I spray that belt dressing junk on it, it gets quiet for about 30 seconds the slowly comes back. The tensioner feels pretty tight, but perhaps not tight enough? Or am I just getting garbage belts? Seen ppl say sumthing about those gatorback belts. Just figured id ask before I go ordering a new tensioner....thanks

Same happened to me. Turned out it was the pulley on my tensioner.

Yeah I put the new pully on the tensioner, squealed. Then swapped it to the other pulley. Still squealed. N the pulleys all seemed to spin fine without noise when I spun them myself w/out the belt on. Tensioner wasnt pullin back that strong so mabe its not tight enough. N it squeaks more in the rain

Don't replace just the pulley on the tensioner, you gotta replace the whole tensioner.

Are you using GM or aftermarket belts?

I have been told aftermarket belts are more prone to squealing than the GM belts.

I just replaced my ac pulley today. It was the worst one. I need to replace the other two, because they have a faint squeal to them also.

I've had terrible experience with NAPA belts. Goodyear gatorbacks have been great on being quiet.
