Default Car is smoking after longtube and ls6 manifold install

Car is a 99 ls1 and I just installed arh long tubes with tsp duals and a ls6 manifold and the car is smoking when you turn it on. It smells kind of like wood burning. Buddy said its probably due to the oils or whatever that are on exhaust that need to burn off. Can it be something else? manifold gasket or something? Thanks

Well I can tell you this, it took a week or so of normal driving for the smell to go away after I changed the muffler out but I didn't see smoke, so it wouldn't surprise me to see it with the headers to a some extent, but it wouldn't hurt to get under there and just make sure nothing is leaking from the intake swap or somewhere else.

It's totally normal, it's just a mix of oils from the headers and your fingerprints. It should go away within a few miles of driving.

Thanks, that's what I thought. The mufflers are releasing lots of water too if that means anything?

Mufflers don't release water, but water is normally present in a cars exhaust. Water is a normal byproduct of an internal combustion engine.

Paranoid you are! If you removed the cats a little more water is normal. Drive that SOB

I had a similar problem when I had Pace setter Lt's and no cats. Car smoked so bad at a stoplight after I got on it! So frustrating... Ended up getting the ARH Lt's with cats. Problem solved.

Puddles under the dumps, it also started misfiring and I have a ticking sound on the passenger side. I think I have a leak somewhere
