Default Seat repair

How hard would it be to replace the side piece shown in the pic. It appears to go up into the seat back

The piece on the second part broke and now when im driving the seat will just lay back into the back seat like I am trying to recline.

When I removed the seat I found this piece of broken metal. I have another grey power seat that I can swap whatever parts. However I am not an interior professional. I see the bolts to take the bottom part off. How hard is it to take the leather off the top part of the seat and put it back correctly?

I replaced the recline assembly before and its not hard to do. just need to pull up the seat cover so you can get at the two bolts that go into the seat back frame.you don't have to remove the seat cover completely.

Default How should I start to remove the leather?

I am going to practice on my old seat. I am guessing that I should start with the carpet wrapped around the bottom of the seat back. and pull it over the release hatch?

If that's the wrong approach for removing the seat cover from the seat back someone please chime in.
