Default Cheapest "built" rear end I can buy to support 700rwhp?

Trying to figure out what rear end to buy. I'm wanting something that will swap in pretty easily while reusing as many start parts as possible to keep the price down. Want something that will bolt in quickly and be ready to go. Also I want something that won't eat up tires. With all that said maybe you guys can help me figure out all the parts I want and what rear end to buy?

1. What rear end to get? 9", m9, or 12 bolt?

2. trutrac, trac-loc, or locker?

3. Is abs/tc needed?

4. 3 channel or 4 chanel abs?

5. Will most stock parts to mount the rear end to the body work or will all of that need to be purchased also?

Some say TruTracs don't last, but I have been beating the **** out of mine for probably 5k with countless clutch dumps on bias plys at the track and it has been holding up fine for an M6. A locker would be a stronger option for an auto car. Is your car 3 channel or 4 channel now? That will answer your question - or you can delete ABS entirely like I did, though people don't recommend it (I prefer it without). Stock parts do mount up with most rears...but you should definitely get a new torque arm if you don't have one as well as LCAs. Also, you're going to want to get a good driveshaft if you don't have one too. 9" is going to be more expensive but stronger, however heavier unless you are going with a MWC or similar high dollar one.

Take a look at the info I have at this link, it may answer some of your questions.

Installation instructions that show how a Moser rear goes together.

http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...c-Truetrac.htm
A nine inch with a Trac-Loc is going to be the cheapest way to go with a differential in a Moser rear. If you have just ABS you would have to go with the Truetrac. Bob

35 spline Truetrac is an option at this link

http://shop.brutespeed.com/Moser-9-I...h-Wavetrac.htm
Wavetrac with 35 spline

I just realized you want one that can handle 700 rwhp. The new Truetrac with 35 spline axles or a Wavetrac with 35 spline axles would be the way I would go.

Looks like mine if 4 channel. Tell me what you think about my options. I can't afford any of the extra suspension parts at the moment.

The Trac-Loc is only good for 500-550 rwhp. I would go with the True Trac with 35 spline axles for 700 rwhp.

I would go with the no cost optional LCA brackets. You can still reuse your stock lower control arms, you'll just have to use the higher mounting holes until you can buy adjustable lower control arms.

Everything else looks good. Thanks Zach. Bob

I wouldn't trust a trac-loc at that power even. I broke mine on DRs with less than 400 launching hard at the track. Wasn't a catastrophic failure (was driveable) but still didn't last.

He's right! Theres a reason why Trac Loc is the cheapest cuz they suck! Not even 2 full seasons my Trac Loc wore out MWC all new stuff! Want cheap posi? Spool! Drive it on the street just learn to make wider turns its not that bad. At least my posi wont break!

I agree. If most of your driving is rural or highway, the only time you'll notice the car has a spool is when you're turning in an intersection. If you try to make a u turn, you'll find the car will tend to plow forward (understeer), you can do it if you give yourself more room, just like if you were towing a trailer. Bob

+1 for spool, its over exaggerated how bad it is. I don't even notice mine in intersections only in parking lots and going into my driveway

Maybe with a spool itll be that price. I forgot what my s60 by itself with the s-trac cost but I paid 2900 for the rear and driveshaft shipped. I ordered it through Carl at CRP and he told me he has customers pushing 8-900hp with the strac and he hasnt had any one say anything bad about it at that level.

Op, it might be worth looking into.

You're limited on gear options with the S60 and it is a lot heavier isn't it?

Its about 40lbs more than the 10 bolt with the s-trac. This was one of the things I talked to Carl about and he said it wouldnt slow me down.
