All 4th gen RS cars are V6 Camaro's with ground effects. 3rd gen and older were V8's.

Peace,
Craig.

Also, I am pretty sure SLP came out with an RS package for the V6 Camaro's in either 2001 or 2002. It had the RS badging, 16" 5-spoke SS style wheels, SLP's Bowtie grille, racing strip kit, and NO ground effects package. It may have added the stock Z28 exhaust system as well, but I can't remember. Kinda confusing isn't it, lol.

As for as 4th gen cars go, I believe the 96-97 V6 Camaro RS cars do indeed have the ground effects. In 98, along with the front end redesign of the Camaro, the RS badge was dropped and the ground effects could be had on both V6 and V8 models as the "Sport Appearance Package". V6 models had no badge, V8 models still carried the Z28 badge. It continued like this until production ended in 2002. SLP then re-introduced the RS as one of their add-on packages in 01 or 02 as I stated above.

if you really want to be confused... loook at the first gens...LOL you could have combos of Z28/SS and then have RS components on the Z28 and SS cars

The RS didn't appear on 3rd gens until 89. They could be had with either the 2.8 V6 (3.1 90-92) or the anemic 170hp 305 TBI (throttle body injection) V8. The first and second gens could get just the RS, RS/Z28, or RS/SS. When you added the RS package to a Z28 or SS, it usually added visual things. I don't know everything it added, but I know the hideaway headlights on the 1st gens was one thing, I think an endura bumper as well. The 2nd gens would get a split chrome bumper. I forget everything else.

Also, the SLP RS for 01 and 02 added the bowtie grille, racing stripes, RS badges, and Z28 exhaust. Optional stuff was 16" ZR1's and "RS" suspension which I think just consisted of take-off Z28 sway bars.

I have the Y3f sport appearance package on my 99Z28. Maybe i'm in the minority, but I prefer the look of the Y3F package on Z28's. I wonder what the weight penalty for the four pieces are.

I have/like the sport package myself Love the way it looks. No need to lower the car with it to get the look I want either. What everyone else has said about it is right. Not RS, just sport package. I do sometiems wonder what it weights.....can't be too much i wouldn't think.

I've got the same package. Unfortunately I'm missing the front passenger piece but that is number 1 on my list of things to remedy.
