Just out of curiousity, who all has had a big money race and lost? And what did you lose to? Down here in Houston, there's always money races everywhere but you never hear about the results. Thanx.

My friend has a up coming race in his 99 Camaro vs a Old school hatch Mustang.
I believe the wager is $400 to $500 it really don't matter he's still going to walk him.
I'll let you know how it goes!

The only person I know of that raced for big money won. It was for $25K. The race went south and an innocent bystander was killed. He fled the country. Not good...

What type of cars?
I'd rather not say. Let's just say that they didn't belong on the street (low to mid 8's).

I believe the car was a Mustang or one of them where.
And the guy is still at large.
I heard about that race not too long ago.

The biggest race for money that I have seen was for 10grand! This was out of state but on the street. Stang vs Vette. It was good.

But the biggest race I've seen between cars is a race between a Comaro Z28 and a Turbo Supra
that was for $2,000. The Supra blew up something the Comaro won.

The case is still pending. Police have been actively looking for the guy. I don't want any part of it so "mum" is the word for me.

Definitely not me Milla. I don't have that kind of money or a car like that. Even if I did, I wouldn't run it on the street.
I'm not a real fan of street racing even though I do my fair share. I'm more of a car enthusiast that likes to have fun as opposed to a "street racer" so to speak.

I've never raced for money. I can't stand losing it. I'm sure if I ever did bet on a race I would end up racing a top fuel dragster or something like that. I race for fun.:usa:

Me too. I cant afford to race for money, my buddy with a 12 second GTP is going to be racing a turbo integra for ~100 sometime this summer.

This is kinda funny. Last Friday at the local 1/8 mile track a guy in a 99-01 Cobra, vortech supercharged, built DOHC 4.6, roll cage, parachute, the full works on it was running N/T. Everyone was cheering his ass even though you couldn't see his time. My friend went over to check it out, he heard he was runing low 6's. So I go over there to get a closer look at the engine, the ass holes said put the hood back on and were looking at me like who the hell are you. Anyways, he made a bet ($1,000) with an old not in too good of condition 1 gen camaro, all motor. It was a very close race, pro tree light, the 1 gen pulled on him hard on the top end to win. The stang paid up and loaded it back up on his fancy enclosed trailer and left. Awesome.

I would never race for a dime while the T/A is still stock... not unless it was against a car that i know i couldnt' lose too. Normally, I would have to assume that if the other person is willing to race me for money, at the very least they are sure they can beat a stock T/A, and believe the are also probably able to beat a modded T/A as well, or else they wouldn't have put up money in the first place. So long as they think they can beat a modded T/A, there's no reason I should run them with a stock one for my hard earned money.
after watching shit like 70s/80s vans pull low 12s/high 11s, and seeing cheesefrog and his fairly mild-manner looking civic, i am wary of any car and every car that would race me for cash. you never know who's put some serious dough into a car that really probably didnt' deserve it.

...he heard he was runing low 6's.
I'm assuming that's on an 1/8 mile track. Not too many cars out there running low 6's in the 1/4.

Yup. It was an 1/8. Plus I dont think a 4.6 could hit 6's in a 1.4 ever. Not enough displacement. DOnt think even a 346 LS1 could. Donno, maybe Im worng.

me too :chug: The funniest thing i have ever seen with someone else racing for money, was this guy at the track who had a LS1 WS6 trans am. I just happened to be standing by his friends on the side gate, and when he pulled up to the line against this H/C 02 Z28 with D/R, his friends were like he's got 2k on this race, and he is gonna smoke him. I was like ummm, does ur friend have drag radials by chance?? and they were like no, but he has alot of upgrades, he is gonna crush this car. The tree went off, the H/C Z took off, and left the ws6 walking to the line as it sprinted. I had talked to the guy in the Z28 before, he said his 10bolt was about dead, and his best time was 11.80, but he ran a 12.2 against the ws6. The T/A ran like a 13.7 or something. I can't believe the guy in the ws6 even challenged that guy, its like he WANTED to loose money. It was fun to watch, and fun to hear his friends say he was gonna own this guy lol. :jest:
