Default Dark Silver Vette?

I've seen this car twice...or maybe it was two different cars, I'm not sure, but I love the color and I'm trying to find out what it is. It was a C5 coupe. It's a dark silver, definitely darker than the light silver you see on most vettes. It doesn't look to be the metallic gray color that they're doing for this year (and I don't know what other years). First time I saw it it looked like it had a hint of purple in it from the way the light was reflecting, but it was definitely a dark silver.

Any idea if this was a GM produced color? and what color it was? Or if anyone knows a vette with Maryland tags that say "6 speed"..that's the car I saw today and are trying to find the color of.

Possibly Light Pewter (colour code 11U)?

It was offered on '98-'02 C5s.

It was the only offered "dark silver" for a C5 that I know of. Sebring Silver and Quicksilver are both rather light...and you said it's not gray.

I looked there and the gray metallic didn't look like it...looked too dark. I don't know what year vette..all I know is that it was a C5.

I did some searching online for more picts...and after finding actual picts..I think it might have been a gray metallic. The picts of the real color don't really look like the example on Chevy's site. Looking at the picts of real cars..it looks like the one I saw.

Thanks for your help everyone!

There was a dark pewter that was out for a year or two.
When you say a hint of purple I just have to think it was Swirl Grey,
like alot of metallic paints it depends on light and pics usually don't
do justice, think about SOM.
Anyone know what color the "grapes of wrath" GMHTP project car was.
It's sort of on the same line but I don't think it was a C5 color.

Lightbulb

It's actually called Spiral Grey Metallic, code 88U I think, new color that replaced Pewter for '03.

I also think you are describing Spiral Gray. I love that color also. One of my favorites.
