Default TH350 or switch to PG?

OK the million dollar question,

So I bought a 97' Camaro with all the BMR goodies minus the Kmember. Rear end is a moser 9" with currently a 4:10 gear. Car is tied and has a cage. 358 SBC, dart, .690 cam roller motor 750 quick fuel carb. Currently runs 11.60s. Has a ATI TH350 and ATI 3000 conv.

I do not plan on driving this car on the street. I would like to change the rear gear to a 4.56. Change the stall to 4500-5000 and leave off a brake.

Should I go with a powerglide/brake and ditch the TH350 or put a brake in the ATI TH350. I read the powerglide with 3000+ pounds is a no no but I have also read that putting a $500 brake in a TH350 is a PITA and that the TH350 will not hold up in the long run.

Looking for direction. Again, the car will not be driven on the street, but I dont want to lose performance but gain with a gear, brake, and stall change. Would like to get the car in the low 11s.

Do not run a 350. Either a 400 or a glide. What are your intentions. Bracket race?? heads up ???

Why? My old setup I used a th350 and it has been "fairly quick" with no issues?

The direct clutches (used when shifting into high gear) on a TH350 will not hold up to high HP and a heavy car. With a drag only car I would go with go powerglide with a trans brake.
